Challenge Book

So, I have a few projects going on but nothing finished enough to post. I thought I would share a book I just finished reading. It's called "The 100 Thing Challenge" by Dave Bruno. I found it at the library...wasn't really looking for it...just kind-of looking around when I found it. It caught my eye because the guy who wrote it lives in San Diego (as do I)...and I thought it looked interesting. It has me looking at the stuff in my house and around me (when I go shopping) a little differently. I did look at all my scrapbooking stuff and thought..."Not getting rid of any of it!" (ok, so maybe I should thin it down some...but the new catalog is due out soon! And I just love all my Close To My Heart products!)...so I thought if I start thinning items down in my house it will fall under...1 craft (as he did with his book library). I will admit that I will never get it to 100 items but it has me wanting to clear the house some. Now, if I can only get my pack rat hubby to join me! Anyone else read this book?

See Some Of The Many Pretty Flowers In Our Garden!

I thought today I would share with you some photos of flowers that are in our garden...since yesterday I posted "garden" type quotes. I've been so busy this week and not feeling great so I didn't have the energy to scrapbook. I do plan to some day make some pretty scrapbook pages of our garden. And, I should add...all the gardening is from my husband. I like to "look"...but not some much "doing" it. Lucky for me...hubby loves the doing and the looking after it's done. So, tell me what you think?!

Hard Times

So, last week while I was looking at the quotes I have...to put together the "Quote Book" quotes I came across this quote:
"You never see the hard times in a photo album, but those are the ones that get you from one happy snapshot to the next". 

It had me thinking about when my daughter was very sick with her asthma. From 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years old she was in the hospital 3 times (for 3-5 days each time). At the time I didn't take any photos...just didn't seem like the right thing to do. Now she is 10 years old and we have her asthma under control...so she hasn't had to go to the hospital since that time period. This quote had me thinking about different times in life that we don't take photos. Times we wish to forget about. I know those hospital visits I wish never had to happen. But I think maybe my daughter is stronger knowing she went through this and came out ok. That she is still doing ok. So, do you take photos of the hard times in your life (or your family's)? What are your thoughts on these type of photos?

True Fit Folio Mini Album ~ Sweetheart Paper

I thought I would share another mini album I just finished making using "True Fit Folios" (Z1404). I made one and posted it on May 27th using the "Mayberry" paper...this one I used the "Sweetheart" paper. I think it came out cute. Father's Day Gifts From My Daycare Children...Even Babies And Little Kids Can Make Something Special With Products From CTMH!

Today I thought I would share what we did in daycare for Father's Day. We used CTMH cardstock again...I wanted these gifts to match the Mother's Day gifts we made in May. I think they came out cute and they weren't too hard to put together.

Birthday Card Using Fanfare Paper Pack And Stickers

I thought today I would share a card I made for my husband. It's his birthday so I put together a card using "fanfare" paper and a few of the stickers from the sticker pack that matches the paper. I did go to a crop on the weekend, and I made a few scrapbook pages but I need to finish them before I post them. So anyway, I hope he likes the card. I think it came out cute!

My Son Had a Pretty Amazing Kindy Teacher!

If your checking in today I have had way too much going on to finish the mini album I was working on the other day...so, I have no artwork to share today. But I am going to a crop tomorrow so I should have some fun stuff to share next week (at least I hope so!). I did want to say that my son finished Kindy...last day was today with a show...with the kids singing and then getting a paper saying..."You're a 1st grader now!" Ok, it didn't really say that but you know that's what it's all about. Anyway, my son's teacher sent home a scrapbook she put together for our family. I was really surprised and just LOVE it! She included lots of my son's artwork and some photos. It is really special and something I will always keep! It is also pretty amazing when you think that she has 27 kids in her class and I am guessing she made one for each child. I thought she did a great job this year with keeping my son happy, growing his mind, and just starting off on the right foot with school! So, if she happens to read this "Thank You!!!!"

I thought I would share some "school/education" type quotes today. My children both got awards yesterday for reaching their reading AR goals. It was great getting to see my son go up to the front when they called his name to give him his "gold" metal. I just loved the look on my son's face. (My husband went in the afternoon to see our daughter get her award...I couldn't take the daycare children twice to school in one day.) So, I thought these type of quotes would be good to share, since lots of children should be getting done school for the year soon.
